Sunset of the Year!

What a awesome experience it is to photograph the beauty that God has given us to enjoy! I love his artistic style! He even gave SoCal some snow on saddleback mountain today! It's been very chilly lately.... I am now 100% certain that sunsets/landscapes are my FAVORITE thing to photograph. I just love the way it makes me feel to be outside in nature and to enjoy the beauty of it. Living in the West ain't so bad!

The Sky on Fire Series

Here is my Sky on Fire series, a killer sunset on 10/9/12 was just too good to pass up not to take photos of. I grabbed my tripod, beach chair, camera bag and hiked up my apartment complex hill where I kind of sneak but not really up this big hill and thru some dirty shrubbery and BEHOLD! One of the best sunsets I've seen in a long time. And especially with all this random weather lately, it adds for a more dramatic look. I die for sunsets. I live for sunsets. They inspire me. ENJOY

The World of HDR Photography

Hello! Another blog entry.... This time I venture into the world of HDR. HDR is a range of methods to provide higher dynamic range from the imaging processes... generally achieved by capturing multiple standard photographs, often using exposure bracketing, and then merging them into an HDR image via Photomatix or Photoshop. Basically, the way you see a photo in REAL LIFE. Only sometimes not... See below
This highway skyline picture is a classic non realistic HDR photo, I get some what upset when I see people in Real Estate use something similar to this and it feels like if I were there in real life would I really see this image myself? I don't think so...
Now this shot is pretty cool but again, not realistic.. In fact, this is by Trey Ratcliff, one of the pioneers in HDR Photography, this is the first and only HDR photographs to hang in the Smithsonian.
This is where I am almost border line... I love everything above the rocks, but then when you get down to where the water is flowing through the rocks that's where I start to not like the photo. It's like a painting. Fake or not real. I guess everybody has their own interpretation. And it's a totally different art form in itself.
Now these last 3 photos are exactly what I want to see in an HDR photo... I feel if I were to go to any of these places this is exactly what I would see in real life! Such detail, definition and pop of color in each part of the photo. This is what I love about HDR that you do not get in any other type of editing.
I am just learning the HDR Process and how to better myself in this element of photography. I hope for it to excelerate my Real Estate business in ways I never thought! :-) See below my own recent attempts at HDR Photography from some photos I have taken for Real Estate...

more jobs and more opportunities :-)

The best part about being a photographer is being able to go all over Orange County and finding its beauty!
I love the HB Bridge! I did a very cool ocean view home this week.
